Blepharoplasty, commonly referred to as Eye Lid LIFT where the excess skin and fat is removed from either the upper or lower eye lids.
Meaning the that eyelids are no longer hooded or droopy. This procedure take around 1 hour and can give a new lease of lift as eye appear more fresh and open giving an overhaul more youthful or simply appear more awake.
Often droopy eyelids or puffiness under your eyes (eye bags) is hereditary or develops with age. Eye lid surgery can be carried out as a day case procedure, but this is subject to the individual’s needs.
Upper and Lower eye lid surgery can be operated on separately or together under general anaesthetic. If you choose lower lid surgery an incision is made under the lower lashes along the lash line or just inside the eyelid where excess tissue is then removed. With the upper eye lid removal an incision is made along the natural crease of the eyelid, surplus tissue or creepy skin, is then taken away.
It is advised to wear sunglasses when outside for the first 1 to 2 weeks, as it will help protect the area from UV rays and yourself from touching the treated area, as it must be kept clean and dry during this time. There may be bruising and swelling during this period, so you can wear your sun glasses in public if you need to out.
